Yes, but you need to patch the 2.0.x kernel to add support for the 2048 byte
sectors used on 640MB MO media.  (You can use 230MB and 540MB MO disks in
your drive without change, since they use 512 byte sectors.)

P.S. Alternatively, you can switch to any recent 2.1.x series kernel, since
they already have 2048 byte/sector support.
