Does anybody know the correct key combination to use on a Sparc with a keyboard adapter interface to get it to dump me at the PROM prompt instead of booting SILO? This would be L1-a on a Sun keyboard, I'm told, and is supposedly F1-a-something with a PC keyboard. However, no combination I've tried works. Can anybody help? The keyboard adapter reports itself as a type 4 keyboard, if that matters. Second, does anybody have a type 5 Japanese keyboard they would like to sell? :-) Third (off of the keyboard question), my latest plan to get Red Hat 5.1 into my 4c architecture machine involves popping my hard disk into a 4m machine, using that machine to install 5.1 on my disk, then replacing the Red Hat kernel with Chris Sekiya's kernel compiled under gcc, which will work on a 4c, so that I can actually boot it. Would anyone out there who is lucky enough to have a 4m machine like to volunteer to help me out with this little scheme? :-) TIA, Jonathan -------------------------------------------------------------- Next Nomikai: 17 July, 19:30 Tengu TokyoEkiMae 03-3275-3691 Next Meeting: 8 August, Tokyo Station Yaesu central gate 12:30 featuring Linux on multiple platforms: i386, Sparc, PA-Risc, Amiga, SGI, Alpha, PalmPilot, ... -------------------------------------------------------------- Sponsor: PHT, makers of TurboLinux http://www.pht.co.jp
