To use PCMCIA cards in your Linux system, you need to have the PCMCIA package installed. It is part of any decent distribution and chances are that you have already installed it on your system. If not, both the installation and the configuration are usually very simple. Before you buy the card, you may want to consult http://hyper.stanford.edu/~dhinds/pcmcia/SUPPORTED.CARDS for a list of supported cards.
