A monkey society needs to know and show who's the boss among
them. And use sex as symbolic act to show obedience to the
boss monkey.
Japanese business society also needs to show who's the boss
among them. There are rules regarding where to stand in
elevators and where to sit in cars and rooms according to
their position. So sometime the host is an American and he
sits wherever he wants, all other Japanese start changing
seats to suit their position accordingly. This is called
musical chair. Or when you address superior you lower
yourself to look up to the superior. The level of your eyes has
to be under ones of the superior.
I don't know how many of rules really apply in each
industry. But, I am sure the industries which are
ineffective and dragging Japan down apply a lot.
Anyway as I told before, e-mail is not good way to
communicate when some emotions are involved. You have to
talk to in person. So I thought using e-mail at all makes
the intention clear.

Regards,
Kei.
