The project is directed by Alan Cox of Linux networking fame. In
fact, in the beginning there were three separate projects, but
the groups found each other and joined forces.

They even have a distribution in the works, called "Blue Bell",
but it's not ready yet.

There's another project to port the Linux kernel to 68000
machines and ultimately to the 6809. The first thing this group
did was to make Linux run on a Palm Pilot, later on a guy in
Germany ported that to the Atari ST. Visit

Actually, don't be astonished if you buy a household appliance
in the near future and eventually find out that a scaled down
Linux is working behind the scenes....

Free software seems to be seeping in everywhere. That joke about
"world domination" of free software IMHO isn't that much of a
joke.....
