OK, the ld.so thing is kind of irrelevant, since that's for the dynamic
linker and not for the compiler.  you'd have to add a flag to the makefile
to have it look in /usr/local/lib, which probably is a major pain.  What
I'd recommend is finding all the files that the wnn4 rpm installs in
/usr/local/lib and either copying them or symlinking them to /usr/lib,
then re-running ldconfig and trying the compile again.
