tlug: [Q] Japanese newsreader usage

Hello,
I was wondering what reader people were using to read Japanese
e-mail. I've been using tin for many years. However, I checked
debian-jp, and jrpm and they don't seem to have binaries for
ktin. There is one for PJE, but I think it is a libc5 version.

ktin was one of the earler newsreaders from the original JE
distribution. Before that, tin was very popular as a newsreader.
However, I think that the standalone command-line newsreader
may have fallen out of favor. There are so many integrated solutions
out there that offer good Japanese support.

I've heard that GNUS is popular and I've used it before. There
are also a number of newsreaders for Emacs that I don't know about.
Pine can also handle news. For years I've been reading
usenet on the main server of my ISP using tin. Now, I'm wondering
if there is a better way. I'm also wondering if people still
use tin and if it is worth writing documentation on its usage.

Regards,
Craig
