I like that category system a lot. I also like the idea of dividing the directory into categories. For example I just had a look at ftp://ftp.pht.com/linux/turbolinux-1.2/TurboLinux/RPMS/ and there are 603 packages in the same directory. If you know which package you want this is no problem but if you just know that you want a package to do a particular task but not its name the division into categories is very useful.
