It certainly does seem clearer.  I think the Debian structure may be the way
to go on this.

Question:  Will files for all Linux-supported platforms be dumped together
in each of those directories, or would there be a different tree for each
one?  For example, A tree for Alpha, for Sparc, for Intel, etc.?  Or will
the files for different platforms be put together in one directory category,
such as editors?

Other question: Are there plans (either short-term or long-term) of having
the downloadable files available in different package formats?  For example,
.rpm, .deb, .gz?
