Greetings from Roppongi from one of the lurkers on tlug. I convinced Craig--wouldn't say it was very hard--to do a presentation on Linux. Would love to have as many Linux nuts in the audience as possible, as there will be tons of time for Q&A afterwards. The location is at GLOCOM in Roppongi. ATIP is right next door. For those of you who know it, a pretty nice facility to talk about how great Linux is and show it off. The meeting's free, of course, but please drop us a line (tk@example.com) or fax us if you're really strange (03-5411-6670) with your name and contact info, so we can get a feel for the room size we'll need. He will utilize Linux, Gimp, and Netscape as examples of how the Internet is being utilized to implement large, physically distributed projects. How this will affect telecommuting and group work in the future will be touched on, as well. Due to his involvement with the internationalization of software, Oda will also comment on Japan's role in the global framework of open protocols and standards.
