I guess what I mean is something like "it works better in Netscape written for other platforms," which it does. Works better in That Other Browser, too. But what toasts me far more is how Netscape's File Bookmark feature, available on other platforms, is missing in the Linux version. That is a pain of royal proportions indeed, and something I desperately hope they fix in the version 5, or that someone does. It's one of those things that falls into the "What were they thinking?!" category, IMO. >BTW, HotJava is probably fine if you have infinite RAM; it may be >better now, too, but when I tried it a year ago, after an hour of >browsing it had a footprint of 100MB. Stomp! Stomp! It's supposedly better. We'll see how much. Having used it on Windows, I'm not exactly expecting a lot, but who knows? Maybe the generic version will work better than the Windows one. If it works well enough to at least use, I'll be e-mailing them asking for a generic version of the HotJava Japanese extension. No, wait. Why don't I just e-mail them for a full-blown Linux version? I know they might tell me to drop dead, since they want to do stuff to encourage people to buy Solaris, but I'll ask anyway :-) Jonathan --------------------------------------------------------------- Next TLUG Meeting: 11 April Sat, Tokyo Station Yaesu gate 12:30 Featuring Tague Griffith of Netscape i18n talking on source code --------------------------------------------------------------- a word from the sponsor: TWICS - Japan's First Public-Access Internet System www.twics.com info@example.com Tel:03-3351-5977 Fax:03-3353-6096
