"M" is for "Micropolis". They were really good about replacing the
first one, and I didn't lose any data (mostly because the "wheeeeng"
noise it was making gave me about 2 months warning :-). After the
second one went the same way, I didn't want a third, so I didn't avail
myself of the warranty....

I don't necessarily blame Micropolis, because in one year at Tsukuba
my computer collects more black soot on the fan grates than I've ever
seen on a 15-year-old diesel's exhaust pipe.... But unlike modern
disks, that one was not hermetically sealed (maybe internally, but the
case had holes in it). The trials of a rice-based economy.

Also "2" is a very small sample. 8-P

Price/performance (except for the 8 month MTBF) was really good, too.
Damn.
