tlug: MIDI in Linux?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows how to use MIDI devices with Linux.  Does
Linux support MIDI cables, sequencers, keyboards, etc?  Software-wise, are
there any sequencing, editing, or wave-table synthesis software available?
