Hi all, I'm a little confused by this. I've got a Red Hat Sparc Linux box set up as a web server for our local Japan Association for Language Teaching chapter (thanks John:-). When I try a ftp login I get: schweiz:~$ ftp jalt.sguc.ac.jp Connected to jalt.sguc.ac.jp. 220 jalt.sguc.ac.jp FTP server (Version wu-2.4.2-academ[BETA-11](1) Tue Sep 3 18:48:14 EDT 1996) ready. Name (jalt.sguc.ac.jp:schweiz): jim 331 Password required for jim. Password: 530 Login failed: User account has expired Login failed. I read the ftpaccess man page, but it didn't say anything about this. No mention of it in the Practical Unix & Internet Security book either. Anonymous ftp is working fine so I set up a jim directory there with 1733 permissions so I can ftp files, but it's a little mendokusai and I want to get rid of the incoming directory before the warez cretins find it. This is pretty much Red Hat straight out of the box so I wonder why this is happening. Any ideas?
