Patches for Japanese pine are available at ftp://ftp.noc.titech.ac.jp/pub/tmp/aki The README.j from the Japanese patch indicates that the Japanese Pine kit has the following features: Japanese online help, Japanese manual page, support for Japanese folder names in the addressbook, encoding and decoding of MIME headers, Japanese support for internal editor [pico], Japanese input support through integration with Canna control routines. The Japanese documentation is optional. There is additional information at http://beehive.twics.com/~craig/writings/linux-nihongo/ click on pine. You need some library files and stuff. If you're compiling with glibc6, it gets tricky. Chris Sekiya did a binary distribution. Let me know if you need it and I'll e-mail it to you.
