could you give us a bit more logistics on your office?  
What is the address?  Is there parking?  What is the best
time for a drop off?  For example, should we do the drop
off at night, during work hours, or on a weekend?

I think that there are several ways to handle thing:

  1) we can ship the server by courier to your office
     and then meet there at a later date for the install.

  2) we can find a member with a car and do the move.
     This would probably take place on a weekend.

  3) we can get several members to carry the pieces on the train


I'll prepare two lists.  One list will be the choices for hardware,
to be used as a basis for what we need for the install.  The 
second list will be choices for software.  This way, members can
edit the working list and then we can do a post on the web for
public record.

IMO, once we decide on the hardware, we should go for it and
get the minimum OS and tcp/ip daemons running, test it for
security. 

On a seperate day, we should go for some software packages.
