The "network not reachable" is saying that there isn't an interface
over which to route packets to your destination.

To set a default route do:

	route add default gw ppp-ip-addres 

If you could send the results of:

	ifconfig -a

	netstat -rn

from both machines, we'll have a better idea of what it going on.
