Ok everyone... I am getting sick of this topic... I think we can all see the shortcomings of both forms of OSes... I tend to try to keep an open mind of everything, so I try to find the benefits and demerits of everything I play with. For Linux/UN*X, these are great for networking, multiprocessing, and hardcore computing... For PCs, these are great machines for what I consider general computing (ie Casual Web Browsing, games, OA, etc.) I think depending on who you work with, who you associate with, etc. should determine what format of OS, what format of WP, etc. that u use... I work in a business environment, and therefore, most of my customers work with desktop apps such as M$ Office, Visio, etc. Some people may choose to go another way such as Lotus or whatever... Everything has its good side and bad side... I have yet to meet anyone in my business who uses TeX or straight ASCII as a means of word processing... maybe in another arena though, it is considered the norm... I guess what I am trying to say is that everyone has their own needs and requirements... I am sorry for trying to put forth mine as the dominant one... I have realized that I was quite inconsiderate for doing so... For me, I am obviously stuck in an M$ world with some wanderings in the Linux world... Since I was 8 years old, I have been constantly using M$ products... I have been greatly influenced with M$, and I can greatly influence using M$... others can do it with UN*X, others with MAC, etc. Anyways... to prevent any unnecessary OS wars, I just wanted to put out my general opinion and an apology for my inconsiderate behavior on this list...
