tlug: pine 3.96 compilation with gcc 2.7.2.3

Hi,
I'm using the patched pine that I compiled with the help
of Rob, Hajime, gcc 2.7.2.1, and libc5.4.23.

I'm trying to document the process, so I gave it a try with 
gcc 2.7.2.3 and libc6.2.0.5c.  

Unfortunately, it didn't compile.  I'm getting this error:

Anyone have any better luck?  If I have to compile it with libc5,
what flag do I give it on the command line to specify libc5 instead
of 6?
