I have it on good authority that the following 'sticker-hagashi' works well on 
the 'void' marks left by the barcodes on the equipment donated by 'unnamed' co.

Below is a message from a friend who was the receipient of some h/w:

% My solvent is ...maybe "su te kka - ha ga shi".
% It means 'sticker remover'.(vender is 3M ???)

% You can buy it in Tokyu-Hands or car shops (auto-tech,yellow hat,etc...)

I might try to zip over to Tokyu Hands at lunch time to see if I can pick up a 
bottle, will send a follow up post with cost info.
