Looks like thats the ticket. Akihabara, here I come!

The only down side I see so far is that sinces it use the par. port,
so that sort of shoots the idea of stringing a serial cable there. It
would be too far for par. cable. 

The other alternative is Microplex's
NetworkEye. http://www.microplex.com/microplex/info/networkEye.html
Camera plugs in one side and ethernet out the other. Sounds
interesting, but probably more than I want to spend. I wonder what it
would cost to do the same type of thing from scatch. A small
motherboard with builtin ethernet, boot it off the linux box. Hmmmm. :)

Then all it would need are some wheels....

Actualy, I never grew up. My playroom just gets more expensive!
