Yes, they changed their mailer configuration a bit over a week ago. Your host name (apparently both in the HELO and the RCPT) needs to be listed in the DNS. All of my mail was bouncing since I use a bogus domain name for my LAN with its dynamic IP connection. I added masquerading to Sendmail, changed the "visible name" for Smail, and changed the environment variable for qmail (one of these days I'll standardize on one for all my machines :-). I picked a bogus machine name for a system I'm affiliated with that has a wildcard MX record and all of my mail goes through now. (They check that your system name exists, not that it necessarily maps to your IP address. :-) This suggests that the machine name that delivers TLUG mail doesn't have an MX record anywhere (although "lists" and "misc" do exist). I don't see a wildcard entry for *.twics.com. ----------------------------------------------------------------- a word from the sponsor will appear below ----------------------------------------------------------------- The TLUG mailing list is proudly sponsored by TWICS - Japan's First Public-Access Internet System.
