Can anyone suggest where I might still be able to find one
of the old parallel port Ethernet adapters?  (Or experience
with them warning I should stay far, far away?)

I've got an old notebook that I'd like to attach to my AAN
(apartment area network) and am trying to decide if I want
to run ethernet or a serial cable into the living room.  :-)
