You shouldn't need any Japanese fonts at the printer, since cnprint takes care of making the Postscript image file that can then be printed on ( I would think) any Postscript printer or anything that ghostscript supports (like even my humble Canon BJC-400J). > I get segmentation faults when I attempt to run cnprint on an EUC text file. Take a look at the command-line options in Section V of CNPRINT.HELP. cnprint correctly auto-detects Big5 and/or GB Chinese, but I think you'll probably have to use the -euc switch to specify Japanese EUC input ( I know I used the -jis switch to print my kanji files). You may also want to use the -w switch to tell cnprint to just create the Postscript file, without sending it to the printer. You can then check it first with ghostview, before sending it down in the usual way. > I've also tried to save > a Japanese Web Page as PostScript and then print it. Both > attempts failed. Netscape, at least, is not kanji-smart when it saves a page as Postscript. It never occured to me to try Mosaic L10N and see if it worked any better. There's a Mosaic 2.6b L10N at icjss.org. > I'm using jiskan.bin, jiskan24.hbf, cnj24.hbf, kanji48.hbf, kanji48.bin. > The 48 dot fonts are superior (and print the same size as the 24, BTW). > My cnprint.cmd is: > Looks fine for Japanese-only use.
