This probably is not the correct place to ask this, but I'm not sure where the correct place is.... I've tried all the places listed in the ghostscript docs... I have been trying to get the Wadalab fonts to work with Ghostscript 4.01. First I tried jis encoding by defining: /Wadalab-mincho-0-8 (Wadalab-mincho-0-8.gsf) ; Gs cores dumps if I try the following: /Wadalab-mincho-0-8 findfont 40 scalefont setfont 100 100 moveto <3021> show showpage Maybe GS runs out out memmory, as it load the whole font. I tried to understand the stack trace below, but I didn't get very far. #0 0x80866c3 in gs_reloc_struct_ptr () #1 0x80ca0c2 in font_reloc_ptrs () #2 0x804ead4 in font_type0_reloc_ptrs () #3 0x808665b in gc_do_reloc () #4 0x808586c in gc_top_level () #5 0x806fff3 in gs_vmreclaim () #6 0x806fe5f in ireclaim () #7 0x806ecbe in interp () #8 0x806d007 in gs_call_interp () #9 0x806cf55 in gs_interpret () #10 0x806a0b2 in gs_main_run_string_end () #11 0x8069fca in gs_main_run_string_with_length () #12 0x8069f75 in gs_main_run_string () #13 0x80694c4 in run_string () #14 0x80688ff in gs_main_run_start () #15 0x8049f2e in main () #16 0x8049ec4 in _start () If I use: /Wadalab-mincho-0-8 (Wadalab-mincho-0-8.gsf.lazy) ; The above test displays fine. Now, what I realy want to do is display EUC encoded files, so I defined: /Wadalab-mincho-0-8-EUC (Wadalab-mincho-0-8-EUC.gsf); Which seem to work, but sometimes core dumps. Any idea what I may be doing wrong? If you could send me a sample Fontmap file and the encodings that you use, that would be most helpful. What about other Kanji fonts? Can I buy commercial fonts and use them with Ghostscript? Are there other public domain kanji fonts?
