Re: [tlug] IPoE and IPv6

I looked into this a bit last year in the context of using OpenWRT and found this information that might be helpful. In my current living situation, however, I couldn't really test it out. Evidently Hikari 10Gbps might also be an option for IPoE.

I will also be curious to hear more as I am moving to a location where I can probably choose my own ISP.
Thanks Andrew,
These links are very useful when it comes to the config/software setup
side of the equation, this all makes sense.
But where I am confused or at a loss is when it comes to the physical
connction part of it.
First of all, in my inaka area, there is no 10G service available from
anybody, I think the NTT Flets hikari 1G is the only reasonable option.
All sources seem agreed that you can't get a /56 allocation unless you
subscribe to hikari denwa. Okay. But if you subscribe to hikari denwa,
NTT gives you a combined ONU + VoIP gateway + router in one box (the HGW)
which acts as your router and limits the LAN side to a single /64 even if
you have hikari denwa.
So it seems the only way to get and use a /56 over IPoE is to
1. subscribe to NTT Flets with hikari denwa
2. get the HGW from NTT and then ...
3. don't use it? replace it with something else? This part is unclear to
me.
