Spamhaus is a cancer that has metastasized. 40+% of MX records can resolve to an AAAA record, although nearly all have A records as well. When Spamhaus list an entire /64, they are knowingly impacting many unrelatedparties in the context of IPv6 IPOE. This type of service is common in Japan (e.g. NTT Flet's).Spamhaus appears to have made a decision that a huge blast radius and holding backing adoption of IPv6 are acceptable tradeoffs so that they don't have to expend more effort. Please don't use Spamhaus. Don't engage with them. Don't give them legitimacy. If people aren't receiving email because of Spamhaus, advise them to complain to their email provider or switch to Gmail.Footnote. We are entering an era where AI will be able to screen our email for us. Address based anti spam will soon be obsolete. This is a good thing because privacy is enhanced if people can stand up their own email servers. Unfortunately, that is still too complex for the average person. If anyone is looking a challenge, that is a worthwhile one to solve. On 28 Sept 2025 00:03, "Stephen J. Turnbull" <steve@example.com> wrote:Hey, all, don't know who needs to know this but ...
Thursday, I did my first IP delisting at an Email Oligopolist.
Microsoft. Very professional. I prefer not to praise Microsoft, I’d
rather bury it, but this was slick.
OK, it's been >48 hours and I'm 3/3 on addresses that complained about
my IPv4 address.
You NEVER gotta hand it to M$FT, but this one they did get right.
Spamhaus though needs to be fscked off the 'net for discouraging IPv6.
Linodes get 1 free /128, but Spamhaus blocks everything in a /64 if it
blocks anything in a /64, and there's no relief. Fortunate-lee I have
the key (old people may know what I mean), or ackshually Postfix
allows you to set outgoing mail to IPv4 only.[1] So
#5alive, we be jammin'
