Hi,

It's less Linux but I could talk about recent updates and my
experience about open-source toolchains for FPGAs (OpenXC7 for Xilinx
7-series, PrjTrellis for Lattice ECP5, etc), if anyone's interested.
There are some FPGA boards I can bring to show on-site.
Recently, PCIe endpoint using Xilinx hardcore, as well as open-source
DDR3 controller have been deployed on Xilinx 7-series FPGAs with the
open-source toolchain.
