Re: [tlug] March 13th, 2021 Technical Meeting

I have edited the livestream video to remove a bit of the presentation setup and some of my incoherence ;)

Stephen's talk is up first and Andreas's talk starts at 1:28:43.

Meeting information

      Date:  March 13, 2021 (Saturday)

      Time:  13:30~17:30

      Place: Online

This months technical meeting will be held online due to COVID-19.
We will meet in https://gather.town and the presentation will be held
in jitsui with a stream published to youtube.  The gather.town and
youtube links will be posted on the day.

Presentations:

Mailman - navigating commercial closed-source in an open source project
  - Stephen Turnbull

Mailman 3 is now the upgrade path for most sites with a team of three
applications (Mailman core which handles the mail, and two Django apps,
Postorius for administration and user profiles, and HyperKitty for
archives).  There are now commercially developed closed-source
alternatives for Postorius and HyperKitty.  Stephen will talk about
how this came about, the frictions and how it can work.

Exploring Lilypond - Andreas Kieckens

Andreas will talk about his progress exploring Lilypond which is a
language for describing music in text files that can be compiled to
midi or score.

About TLUG
----------
TLUG is a non-profit, non-political organization established in June
of 1994 to exchange information on the use of Linux and Free Software
Foundation tools. TLUG has an active mailing list, home page, and
regular physical meetings. Discussions are primarily held in English,
but non-English speakers are encouraged to come and participate.
We especially want to encourage Japanese people to attend and will make
efforts to support a bilingual meeting.

TLUG generally hosts technical meetings every odd-numbered month on the
2nd Saturday, and a nomikai (social even at a pub) every even-numbered
month on the 2nd Friday.
