For what it's worth, we've recently started using OwnCloud at work and
it seems to be ok.  Certainly nice to have an alternative to Dropbox.
But we had been using various brands of NAS', which usually shipped
with their own proprietary software for file synchronization.  It did
get the job done, but when the NAS model gets old, support drops.
Certainly good to have an alternative to this, as well, running on an
Ubuntu-based server.

Perhaps I'll look into Syncthing some day to see what it's about.
