-=-=-=- Announcement: March 10 2018 TLUG Technical Meeting -=-=-=-=- Meeting information Date: March 10, 2018 (Saturday) Time: 13:30-17:00 (doors open 13:00) Place: IIJ (Internet Initiative Japan) Iidabashi Grand Bloom 2-10-2 Fujimi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo 102-0071 Presentations: Programming music with Sonic Pi by Andreas Kieckens http://sonic-pi.net Sonic Pi is a programming language based on Ruby that allows you to effectively write music using code. Its author intended it to be used both as a live instrument that you're able to gig with, as well as a classroom utility to help students learn how to code in a fun way. During this presentation Andreas will give a live demonstration and also discuss some basics of music theory and how they can be applied to programming. Sessions: Joe Larabell will lead a session brainstorming future topics that people would light to hear. Short (Lightening) Talks The flow will be open to short talks. If you would like to do a short presentation 5-10 min please get in contact before the meeting to insure we have time. Auction (bring any gear that would would like to donate to TLUG) All Linux users and supporters of open source code and free software are invited to attend this Tokyo Linux Users Group (TLUG) meeting. Membership is open to anyone. There are no membership dues or entrance fees. After the meeting, we will continue chatting over a few beers. About TLUG ---------- TLUG is a non-profit, non-political organization established in June of 1994 to exchange information on the use of Linux and Free Software Foundation tools. TLUG has an active mailing list, home page, and regular physical meetings. Discussions are primarily held in English, but non-English speakers are encouraged to come and participate. We especially want to encourage Japanese people to attend and will make efforts to support a bilingual meeting. TLUG hosts technical meetings every odd-numbered month on the 2nd Saturday, and a nomikai (social even at a pub) every even-numbered month on the 2nd Friday.
