If you check here, Red Hat people discussing this issue, among others 
similar in the past:

Basically you have to add a "resume" statement with location for 
hibernation to work (resume previous state) under FEDORA for many 
versions now.
Your input much appreciated about this issue and possibilities why I 
can't pull it off. One line of investigation I'm taking is this "GPT" 
Master Boot Record that I formatted.
I mainly use "UUID" corresponding to "/dev/mapper/fedora-swap" obtained 
from issuing command "blkid".
My hardware is new netbook kinda re branded from Taiwanese "OEM" 
manufacturer "CLEVO". Possibly wacky "BIOS" with wacky stripped down 
components, etc. You know the drill. But apart from this missing 
hibernation, FEDORA is managing the job pretty well. That's why I went 
for it. And it doesn't seem like "ACPI" or something.
Anyway. Red Hat people around here come out of the shadows and drop me a 
line.
