ESR is very concerned with lessening the "friction cost" of software
development, and has written many excellent tools to enable
developers. I remember writing Gentoo ebuilds for a lot of his stuff
10 years ago when I was still a Gentoo dev. :) He wrote a nice little
Python program called ssh-installkeys, which encouraged the OpenSSH
guys to add ssh-copy-id, which is the first ESR tool that I dealt
with. I was quite chuffed to get a reply from him when I emailed him
to let him know that it was in Gentoo. :)
