Inverting 12V up to 230V (or whichever mains voltage you're used to)
and down to the twentyish the arbitrary laptop wants is a huge waste
of power. It's better to use a switched-mode DC-to-DC converter from
12V to twentyish directly, as the thing won't spend most of the power
consumed heating up the cabin.
