I have used this Panasonic external CD/DVD drive for years, but not
very intensely.

Slim, light, USB-powered, CDRW/DVDRW, with a convenient power switch
to save electrivity without unplugging the USB cable. Open on top,
lipe Panasonic laptops optical drives, which I think is more
convenient than CD/DVD trays.
