    Five or so years ago I went around the department here,
asking people / professors if they had access to the big telescope 
on the roof, so that I might take a look at Saturn. One of them (this
is a phD astrophysicist-type) looked at me and quizzically asked
"Why?" (As in, "why do would want to look at Saturn? I am puzzled
why someone would want to do this")

   Ack. "Never mind. I'll just look at a picture."
