I had some > free USB ports so no big problem. Really! That's very interesting, because I had the same problem with my PS/2 mouse! In my case, I think it was due to a KVM switch falling and the plugs getting bent somewhat (it sporadically works, but I have to use a USB mouse from time to time now).
