Sure, but nobody's written any worth laying yet.  Yes, it's worth
having your mail scanned for viruses, but AFAICS 99% of the value is
spam removal, not protection from virus infection.

The commercial stuff that tries to scan everything on your disk as
it's read into memory is a great way to bring your system to a
screeching halt, too.  My neighbor at work has had to abandon two
machines for that reason, but they are pretty zippy as Linux
boxes. :-)
