My father-in-law is an hibakusha. The dropping of the bomb on Hiroshima meant that his mission to blow himself up against the side of an American ship had to be canceled. If you ask him what he thinks about nuclear weapons you may find his answer outside your expected mean and median. It's added 65 years to his life, so far.

How can we use it when we don't have one?

How do you know Japan doesn't possess nuclear weapons?
