Probably just another transient heavy geek device.
* iPod went from mp3 to video
* iPhone is an communicating iPod Touch, which was just an iPod evolution
* Electronic book readers are growing in size
* Netbooks have grown in size
* Electronic book readers are switching to electronic ink paper. (Weight is a 
problem. Batteries as well.)
* AV equipment goes DNLA
* Accelerometers & motion capture spreads as well as multitouch

You can make a guess what the next step will be :
Something large, communicant, with easy UI, no batteries, and motion sensing 
controls ?
An Apple communicant TV/Display with motion sensing controls, selling their 
own, locked in, apps, movies, games, communications and home automation 
services ?
