Finally got the time to try this. Thanks to your kind advice, I was able to get into runlevel 3 with no problems and get the program to run--down to accepting the license and starting to compile.
Then I was told I needed to install gcc or make sure the cc variable was in my path.

I guess that is what you meant by this. I have googled for how to do this, but all the answers I have been able to come up with assume more knowledge of running Linux than I possess. I tried "cc=enabled" and that seemed to be accepted (I didn't get an error message) but ended up with the same results in compiling.
Is there some simple command I need to add, or is there some setting in YaST that I need to change? (YaST tells me gcc is installed.)
