If he's swapped the RAM out into another machine and that other machine
works fine, I'd say it's rather unlikely to be a RAM issue.Cheers,
Actually, that's the very issue that I wanted to point out. It may boot on one machine (and possibly cause "weirdness" later), but fail to boot when put into another one. Anyway, it's a good place to start looking if you suspect everything else is OK.
