Given that Linux and BSD are always playing catchup for device drivers
and such, I think buying a slightly older laptop (maybe 1-2 years
behind top-of-the-line ones) is great advice. I did that before with
a really old Dell years ago I used to run RedHat (pre-RHEL) on. Years
of fun with that old Pentium 133MMX. :)
