TLUG,
My Android phone connects via USB to two of my three computers without
any problems.
However, on one computer, when it attempts to connect, it immediately
disconnects again. Further, after I make an attempt to connect on this
one computer, that sours the Android for making connections on the other
computers. I have to reset the Android phone's USB* in order to get it
to play again.
Because two out of the three computers are doing okay, I'm assuming that
the problem is on the one machine. It is running Mythbuntu 9.04.
Here is the output of dmesg when I attempt to mount the Android device:
[113089.959053] sd 3:0:0:0: [sdb] Device not ready: Sense Key : Not
Ready [current]
[113089.959060] sd 3:0:0:0: [sdb] Device not ready: Add. Sense: Medium
not present
[113089.959066] end_request: I/O error, dev sdb, sector 0
[113089.959086] unable to read partition table
What might the computer be doing that is not only rejecting a
connection, but also sending a signal to the Android that leaves it
slightly malfunctioning?
Any advice greatly appreciated.
*Android USB connection fix: Settings->Applications->Development.
Checking and/or unchecking the USB debugging box seems to rest the USB
connection.
