It's been a while since I needed to care, but I believe that LC_ALL actually overrules all the specific ones (LC_CTYPE, LC_TIME, etc). I mention this just so you have a fighting of diagnosing a bug where LC_CTYPE or something doesn't DTRT in your uxterm. But congratulations on getting things working!
