Hi Stuart, I wonder if your wireless router is doing NAT? On mine, there are five wired ports on the back. One is marked "internet" and the other four are for wired PCs. If you plug the internet port of your 2nd floor router into your wired network, then the router will (probably) do various NAT and filtering (hence being unable to access Windows networking). If, instead, you connect the wired network to one of the other ports then the router should instead act as a wireless bridge, doing what you want. Make sure you turn off DHCP on the router if you do this. Regards, Leo
