"Introduction to Detaxe group" by Francois Cartegnie
"Scalable filesytem and storage" by Gosuke Miyashita
"Varnish high-performance HTTP accelerator" by Edward Middleton
This month, Tomoyuki Sakurai will introduce GPL-licensed ModSecurity, which is the most widely deployed Web Application Firewall. The talk will include an overview of ModSecurity, its use cases, deployment, its latest feature as well as a Perl module Sakurai-san has developed to help deployment and operation.
Our second speaker Francois Cartegnie will introduce the Detaxe Group and talk about the work they have done against the linked sales of operating systems with hardware.
We will also be having a number of lightening talks.
Gosuke Miyashita will talk about his goal of setting up a Scalable filesytem and storage and give an overview of the technologies he has tried (Red Hat Cluster, CLVM, GNBD, GFS/GFS2 and DRBD).
Edward Middleton will give an introduction to the Varnish web accelerator.
If you are involved in a project or have something you would like to talk about, we are always looking for presenters.
Other items on the agenda are: 1. Introduction of new members, news about Linux/Open Source, general announcements, Q&A 2. Auction
All Linux users and supporters of open source code and free software are invited to attend this Tokyo Linux Users Group (TLUG) meeting. Membership is open to anyone. There are no membership dues or entrance fees.
After the meeting, we will continue chatting over a few beers.
About TLUG ---------- TLUG is a non-profit, non-political organization established in June of 1994 to exchange information on the use of Linux and Free Software Foundation tools. TLUG has an active mailing list, home page, and regular physical meetings. Discussions are primarily held in English, but non-English speakers are encouraged to come and participate. We especially want to encourage Japanese people to attend and will make efforts to support a bilingual meeting.
TLUG generally hosts technical meetings every odd month on the 2nd Saturday, and a nomikai (social event at a pub) every even month on the 2rd Friday.
The TLUG home page is available at http://www.tlug.jp
