To match which name? The one sent with the HELO command? Are you quite
sure that before you changed it, there was an A record for the name
returned by the in-addr.arpa lookup?

I send to hotmail all the time with no problems.

Anyway, a much simpler solution to that is just to send the name
returned by your in-addr.arpa record with your HELO; then you don't need
to get the ISP involved.
