Sure, for the particular case you mention.  In fact, such top-posting
is protocol on a lot of patch-review lists used by people who are not
just real, not just smart, but actually Real Smart, too.

But you know what?  If you go back to the paper office, you realize
that the same people who think top-posting is so natural (when it's
enforce by brain-damaged software) didn't have any trouble
distinguishing between a buck slip (the scenario above) and an RFC,
and they sure did make interlinear comments on the RFC as they read
it.
