Actually, I first saw that license on the code that Jeffrey "Mastering
Regular Expressions" Friedl used for searching the casualty list from
the Hanshin-Awaji Daishinsai in January 1995.

Jeff's license didn't.  It went something like this:

"You have the right use this code as long as ... oh, just take it!"

which expresses just about the right degree of exasperation, I think.
